It’s so close I can feel it. One more day of quarantine and then we are DONE. I’ve been running laps around my house and playing endless capture the flag with my eldest to keep sane, and all I can think about is going for a long, beautiful run in nature somewhere — by myself. It’s amazing how something as simple as a two week quarantine period helps make the important things in life clear.
What have I learned? That I should never buy chocolate while in quarantine, that kids are resilient, and that taking time off in circumstances like this is a good thing if at all possible — particularly if it leads to me digging out an old Rick Bayless recipe book and whipping up some mole. Speaking of which, I’m going to go do my best to make the most of my last couple of nights of leave.
