I am so excited to make this announcement. Zena and I have been working on the podcast for months now, turning an idea into something we could send out into the world. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together here, and of what we’ve learned so far. The podcast broadly focuses on how we design, build and regulate technologies for uncertain futures (think climate, covid — anything that perturbs society enough to cause great change). Our first episode is here, and features two of my colleagues on the Algorithmic Futures Policy Lab committee, Fred Roberts, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers University, and Alexis Tsoukiàs, a CNRS research director at LAMSADE, PSL University, Université Paris Dauphine. They are lovely human beings and their stories are inspiring examples (I think, anyway) of what it means to live a life of purpose, so please, go have a listen.
While you’re there, if you like what you hear, please share our podcast and give us a rating. it’ll help us get the word out. I’m hoping you won’t want to miss out — we have some fantastic episodes in the works for the next several months.
